Megan Anna Rapinoe, born in Redding California on 5 July 1985. Megan started playing soccer as a young girl and was able to develop her skill throughout her teens. She then attended at the University of Portland in Oregon along with her twin sister fraternal Rachael Rapinoe. Megan Rapinoe, a member of the soccer team at the university became one of the leading female scorers in women's soccer in the United States. A knee injury caused Megan Rapinoe's absence for a portion of her sophomore and junior seasons. When she was a senior, she returned to full-time soccer, and started playing in all games that year. She graduated with a bachelor's of sociology degree at the University of Portland. Rapinoe was drafted by the Chicago Illinois Red Stars in the new Women's Professional Soccer WPS. The team was disbanded 2010. She played until then. Rapinoe's stay at the Philadelphia Pennsylvania Independence was then sold for Boca Raton Florida. In just eight matches, Rapinoe scored two goals to help the MagicJack reach third place in that league. At the end of 2011, the magicJack folded and in early 2012, so did WPS. Rapinoe played for Sydney Football Club FC in the Australian W-League for a couple matches before returning to the United States. The next team she joined was the Seattle Washington Sounders Women. They are now she is with the Sound FC. In 2013, Rapinoe played soccer in France. After the WPS split up, she joined Seattle Reign FC (now OL Reign) of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL. Rapinoe was eventually promoted to the role of captain and became the team's best scorers. She first took part in the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2011. Her contributions helped to help the U.S. Women's World Cup to take home two titles in 2019 and 2015. She was named cocaptain in 2018. The two goals scored by Rapinoe were the result of the 4-3-2 United States victory against Australia in the Olympics of 2020 in Tokyo. Japan, however it was postponed until 2021 until the COVID-19 pandemic had passed.
